  • 90% of buyers use a real estate agent to purchase a home?
  • Realtors are less likely to know about FSBO's (For Sale by Owners). You may post on Facebook and Zillow, but realtors use MLS to locate properties for sale. This means that only a fraction of home buyers and their agents are aware of your house being for sale. That cuts out a HUGE number of prospective buyers. When a home goes on MLS, it automatically populates numerous websites all over the country. Increased exposure=Increased demand.
  • If a realtor is representing a buyer who does become aware of your home, and their client is interested in submitting an offer, they will ask you to pay a commission. At that point, you are paying a professional to negotiate against yourself!
  • Realtors are trained in legal documents. They not only bring buyers, but they handle title work, contracts, etc and work to the best of their ability to prevent you from getting in a legal bind or taken advantage of.
  • If a buyer gets an inspection, they can legally negotiate the terms of the original agreement after that inspection report is received. Realtors help you keep the buyer while finding solutions that benefit both the buyer and seller.
  • Realtors save valuable time and energy!
  • Showing your own home can be very difficult. Without a realtor, you may have people coming through your home without the best of intentions. As your realtor, I will verify buyers, make sure their loan types will work for your house, and accompany them through your home. This eliminates nosey people and unqualified buyers! It is also very hard to be objective about your own home (I know from experience!), so having a realtor show your home keeps emotions out of the decision making process.
  • As your realtor, I will communicate with the title company, inspectors, appraisers, loan officers, etc and make sure everything is on track at all times throughout the transaction.
  • As your realtor, I will schedule all appointments with potential buyers, inspectors, appraisers, repairmen, etc.
